08-02-2010 - Kuala Lumpur Day 01

28-01-2010

I had a tiring day so turned in quite early the night before so doesnt have the i-afraid-my-alarm-might-not-go-off feeling..

Woke up at 4am.. Get ready, watched a little tv and wait for D to pick me up.. We underestimated the journey(time) he need to reach here.. so i was basically rushing like mad.. the main road is 2 block and an overhead bridge away from my flat..

Actually we are EARLY but.. The flight is pushed forward 35minutes without any notice! and there's a long queue at the check in counter.. After checked in our baggage.. We need to go through the custom despite we can do it ourselves but it still took us sometime.. Then we immediately rushed to Burger King to have our breakfast..

Its has been years that i had Burger King's Breakfast (when Queenie is just 1.5 years old..)

After the breakfast we wasted no time to brisk walk to the departure gate which is SO FAR away~ We made it in time.. And guess what? The plane actually took off at 8 instead! Seeing planes queuing up to take off is so precious.. lol~ We reached at about 8.35am.. Even earlier than expected.. i checked from a site that we can only check in at the hotel at 2pm.. >.<

Kuala Lumpur International Airport is kinda of.. messy? As there is no sign-age to tell us that we have to take the Aerotrain to another building to claim our baggage..

Views took from Aerotrain..

Since we are too early to go shopping or check in at the hotel.. We decided to hang around at the airport.. And since we did not plan any itinerary for this trip(but i did roughly get a list of places we cant missed out.. shopping centres =X).. So we gathered the maps and some information at the tourist information counter and planned the itinerary at Burger King (again)..
They served soya bean milk! Very tasty! Very different from the ones in Singapore or Taiwan.. But the onion rings are a little weird.. They have salt on them..

At about 9.. we decided to take the KLIA Express train to the city.. The airport is actually at Sepang.. As its a weekday so i'm afraid there would be traffic jams so it might be costly to take taxi.. And the Express train only take 28 minutes!

The ticket cost 35RM (divide by 2.4 then *1.4 for USD)..

Interior of KLIA Express Train..

We hang around at KL Central and found that there is nothing much to shop or see there so we decided to try our luck at the hotel (check in)..

We took monorail.. The hotel is located at Masjid Jamek and within walking distance..

The card is like our translink card which we no longer use it in Singapore anymore..

Graffiti along the drain.. Took from monorail..
We successfully check in at 10.. ^.^v I learned my lesson that photos of hotel online are not reliable but not this hotel.. Its a new hotel.. I booked it after asking J who is from Kuala Lumpur about its location and since the price is quite reasonable cheap.. We also made use of the rebate (from the previous hotel bookings)..

Below are interior of the room..

Its my first time staying in a hotel room using card key..

With nice view too.. Able to see both Pertonas Twin Tower and KL Tower.. Its the window that is dirty not that i blurred it..
Below is a bazaar but only open until 10.30pm..

Comes with complimentary breakfast..
After unpacking and rot in the room for hours.. We venture out for lunch..
We went to Bukit Bintang.. There are quite a few shopping centres to shop..
This is the newest.. A nice mall to shop~

We had dinner at Din Tai Feng (sounds familiar?) Singapore has a few branches.. Ans thanks to exchange rate.. It is cheaper to have it in Malaysia..

After dinner.. we shopped alittle and then its time for dessert!
We had this similar dessert in Taiwan and they gave us a pager..
Is this mouth watering?
After dessert we decided to head back to the hotel.. The photos below are took from Bukit Nanas
Zoom in KL Tower.. Sorry blurred it..
Not sure whether is it i upload the photos to 640 pixel so some of the photos look pixelated..
